Sing, Sing Sing!

It was a lovely warm Saturday morning when members of the NGH Choir started arriving at St Mary the Virgin Church Higham Ferrers ready to sing for the monthly Farmers Market concert. After a quick perusal round the market, members met in the Chantry Chapel for a warm up and rehearsal. We were delighted to be joined by the lovely Anya and Jonny who made this concert extra special for us, accompanying our singing with the Double Bass and Drums.

We waited until 11pm prompt when we were able to move into the main church building, as the church bell-ringers had been conducting their weekly practise from 10am. We set the drums up and with excitement and nerves, the choir ran through their jazzy numbers whilst the church filled with parish members. The concert began and was a fabulous one - upbeat numbers, smiles, and laughter. It was so nice to be joined by a live band to bring our singing alive! After the concert, so many audience members came up to us, congratulating us on how fantastic we sounded. What a treat it was!
