The Best Possible Care Awards are hosted annually by Northampton General Hospital. The Awards stand as an opportunity to celebrate the fantastic work of employees within the Trust. Employees are nominated by their colleagues if they have made a significant and notable contribution to the hospital over the course of the year.

Hosted at the Park Inn, Northampton, the event is an opportunity for us to get dressed up and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday working life at the Hospital and celebrate the fantastic work that we all do. We were delighted to be invited to open the ceremony for the third year running!

The Choir arrived to the venue excited and a little bit scared - after all, performing in front of your colleagues when this is just your hobby is a little bit daunting. We were greeted by a lavish buffet and a glass of bubbly on arrival, before being whisked away by Jess for a quick rehearsal in the back room.

Before we knew it, we were on stage with the lights all on us. We were the opening act for the evening. We sang a range of jazzy songs - one even involving hand clicks - and finished with one of our new songs, an arrangement of Downtown.

We left the night feeling excited and energised - how privelidged we were to open such an important night for the hospital!
