Christmas Lights Switch On

The Christmas Lights Switch On is a popular event and we were so excited (if not a little scared) to have been invited to perform alongside other fantastic musical talent from Northampton on Saturday 18th December. It was a chilly winter's afternoon and the choir congregated on Northampton Town's Market Square in their finest Christmas hats ready to sing their hearts out.
We were called on to stage and we positioned ourselves ready to go with our accompanist Kay. We sang to a packed crowd singing new songs we had learnt this term including 'Gaudete' and 'Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day' and one of the choir's new favourites, 'Ner Li'. We were met with rapturous applause after our performance and left the stage with a fantastic buzz.
It wasn't long before we were back performing on the Market Square again on Sunday 3rd December for the town's Frost Fair. Two wonderful opportunities for us to share our music making with the people of Northampton. Here's a picture of a few of us singing at the Frost Fair:
